NOLA acquires New York draft pick Chase Schor-Haskin

NOLA have completed a trade with Rugby United New York to acquire 6th overall draft pick Chase Schor-Haskin. The Gold also receive a 2nd round pick in the 2022 Collegiate Draft in exchange for a foreign player slot that will allow New York to select one extra import in match day squads.

Schor-Haskin is a strong ball carrier who is comfortable playing across the back row. He arrives from Life University where he was a standout in both XVs and 7s, earning All-Star selection at the 2021 Collegiate Rugby Championship 7s. The 22-year-old is currently playing for Life in the American Rugby Premiership.

It’s a timely trade for NOLA in light of Andrew Guerra’s injury, though unrelated. Schor-Haskin joins a competitive loose forward group that includes two more Eagles in Cam Dolan and Moni Tonga’uiha as well as returnees Devin Short, Malcolm May, Osaisi Tonga’uiha, and Giovanni Lapp.
