Thomas Gallo was a try scorer earlier this evening in the United Rugby Championship (URC). The Argentine loose head scored an impressive solo try for Benetton against Welsh region the Scarlets.
The Tucumán prop picked up from the base of a ruck and got past three Scarlets defenders. They were both forwards and backs. Among the defenders was fullback Ioan Nicholas, Gallo handed-him off, forcing him to the ground.
The solo try was Gallo running 25 meters en route to what will be considered not only one of the great prop tries of the season, but potentially one of the great all-time tries by a prop.

Yet, there was more; Gallo scored two tries in the match. He touched down in the try zone in the 44th and 59th minutes. It is encouraging news for Argentina. Mario Ledesma is in need of improved results following a 0-6 outcome in the 2021 Rugby Championship.
Gallo is on Argentina’s roster for the upcoming November Internationals. Los Pumas will play three test matches in Europe. They take-on France in Paris, Italy in Treviso and Ireland in Dublin. The 22-year-old made his test debut in the final round of the tournament.
In his first test cap, Gallo scored two tries; a rare feat in test rugby. Indeed, only twice before had any prop scored twice on test debut. Gallo is the only player to do so since the game went professional.
