Free Jacks sign Canadian front rower Foster DeWitt

The New England Free Jacks have announced the signing of Canadian front rower Foster DeWitt on a three-year deal through the 2024 Major League Rugby season. He arrives from the Pacific Pride, Canada’s centralized development side, who are currently competing in the Coastal Cup.

DeWitt, 25, has represented Canada at u18 level and was recently called up for both the senior tour to the UK in July and the World Cup Qualifiers though he has yet to make his test debut. He previously lined up for Westshore and the UBC Thunderbirds in the BC Premier League.

Signed primarily as a hooker, DeWitt is also capable of providing cover at loosehead prop. He joins fellow Canadian Josh Larsen at the club and is the third new acquisition for the Free Jacks during the offseason. Previously announced were loose forward Jesse Parete and midfielder Wayne van der Bank.
