Argentina XV vs USA Selects game cancelled

Friday’s match between the Argentina XV and the USA Selects in Montevideo has been cancelled. The match was to be part of the opening round of the Americas Pacific Challenge. A statement from USA Rugby cites the cause as “challenges experienced in transit.”

The result has been declared a draw with both teams receiving two competition points. They will continue to play their two remaining fixtures. The USA will play Brazil ‘A’ on Tuesday followed by Chile ‘A’ next Saturday. Argentina’s opponents will be Paraguay ‘A’ and hosts Uruguay ‘A’.

Chile ‘A’ will face Paraguay ‘A’ in the first game of the tournament on Friday afternoon at 3pm local time (11am Pacific, 2pm Eastern). Moving up into the 5pm slot (1pm Pacific, 4pm Eastern) will be Brazil ‘A’ vs Uruguay ‘A’. Streaming details are still to be confirmed.
