Two year extension for Free Jacks captain Josh Larsen

Josh Larsen has signed a two-year extension with the Free Jacks that keeps him in Boston through the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 27-year-old Canadian international captain New England for the second successive year after making the move from Austin.

This past season saw Larsen making 12 starts for the club, mostly at lock though he also filled in at blindside flanker on occasion. In July he won his 16th test cap against Wales but a lower leg injury suffered on the last play of the match ruled him out of the remainder of the MLR season and he would also miss out on the World Cup Qualifiers.

Larsen is the first player to sign an extension in the off-season for New England though several previously contracted players have been confirmed as returning. Josh’s older brother Travis Larsen recently signed a new two-year contract with the Seattle Seawolves.
