Iván Nemer will play for Italy

Iván Nemer will play for Italy. The loose head prop joined Benetton for the 2020-2021 Pro 14 season and subsequently signed an extended contract for what was rebranded to be the United Rugby Championship (URC).

Italy named Nemer on their roster for the November Internationals. It comes after he was not named on Argentina’s roster for the 2021 Rugby Championship while fellow Italian-based Argentine URC props Thomas Gallo and Eduardo Bello were.

Nemer spent there years playing age grade rugby for Argentina. He was an Argentine u18’s and u20’s player. The 23-year-old Nemer is from Mar del Plata in Buenos Aires province. A product of Bigua Rugby Club, he has played rugby since the age of four. He also played for IPR Sporting, from whom he went on to be selected for Argentina at the junior levels.

Nemer is one of two Argentine players on the Italian roster for the November Internationals. The other is fellow Benetton player, Juan Ignacio Brex. The center from Córdoba made his debut for Italy earlier this year in the Six Nations.
