Experienced Brazil squad named for Americas Pacific Challenge

An experienced Brazil ‘A’ squad including 13 full internationals has been named for the Americas Pacific Challenge. Also included in the extended group which numbers 33 are a number of SLAR representatives with the Cobras as Brazil look to prepare for their upcoming tour to Africa. The squad will be reduced to 29 prior to the tournament.

Brazil will travel to Montevideo on Sunday with their first match against Uruguay ‘A’ next Friday. They will then face off against the USA Selects and Paraguay ‘A’ in quick succession. For 11 members of the squad this is a chance to move on from the disappointment of defeat during July’s World Cup Qualifiers.

Loosehead prop Lucas Abud is the senior member of the roster with 44 caps. He is joined by second row Gabriel Paganini and winger Robert Tenório who have 27 and 21 caps respectively. Jacareí flyhalf Leonardo Ceccarelli, who broke into the national side as a teenager, returns after four years in the international wilderness.

A detailed squad list can be seen here.
