Dan Hollinshead heads to France with Vannes

Rugby United New York flyhalf Dan Hollinshead has signed for French Pro D2 club Vannes. The 26-year-old New Zealander was most recently playing for Auckland in the Bunnings NPC. This will be his second experience in France, having played for Agen in 2017.

Hollinshead appeared in 11 games during his first and only Major League Rugby season to date. He kicked 97 points, second only to Houston’s Sam Windsor, and his 81% accuracy off the tee was edged only by Seattle’s AJ Alatimu (82%) for kickers with a minimum 25 attempts at goal.

Ironically it’s Windsor who New York appears to have lined up as a replacement. MLR’s all-time leading points scorer announced his departure from Houston this week and has been strongly rumored to be headed to the Big Apple for the 2022 campaign.
