There have been many twists and turns in the Americas’ Rugby World Cup 2023 qualifiers. The matches for the year 2021 have come and gone. With it Uruguay has earned the Americas 1 spot at France 2003 while Brazil, Canada, Colombia, and Paraguay have been eliminated and Chile and the USA remain in contention.
The 2023 version of the Americas RWC qualifiers was similar to that of the former Americas Rugby Championship. The tournament involved six teams with Canada and the USA competing in North America and Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay, and Uruguay in South America. The top two from South America advanced to the finals against Canada and the USA.
This article identifies the leading Americas players from the entirety of the Americas’ RWC 2023 qualifiers. Players performances have been considered and compared to others defending the colors of the Americas in the test arena. No Colombian players were considered due to their one match having been cancelled.
