Ned Hodson moves from Austin to Dallas

Ned Hodson will make the move north from Austin to Dallas for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The versatile backfielder joins the expansion Jackals after this second MLR campaign, two years removed from his first run with the Elite in 2018.

England-born, Ireland-raised, and US-eligible, Hodson brings experience and the ability to play either center position, wing, or fullback to the Jackals. The 27-year-old appeared in 12 matches for the AG’s in 2021 including 8 starts, bringing his total to 19 MLR caps all told.

The Jackals have also confirmed the return of 23-year-old flyhalf Nate Lyon to their extended squad. He joins from the Austin Blacks, having initially signed a development deal with Dallas ahead of the 2021 season. Lyon played collegiate rugby for Boston College.
