Carlo de Nysschen has re-joined the Dallas Jackals for their inaugural Major League Rugby campaign. It’s the second take for both the South African-born US-eligible scrumhalf with the expansion side, having signed with the club ahead of the 2021 season before the Jackals opted to withdraw.
The 25-year-old subsequently signed a one-year deal with the Legion. de Nysschen appeared in 12 of the club’s 16 games, starting 7 times and scoring 3 tries, 3 conversions, and 1 penalty goal. With current Eagles backup Nate Augspurger and USA u20 international Ethan McVeigh also competing for time in San Diego, de Nysschen will instead look to secure a starting berth with Dallas.
Dallas have now confirmed eight senior and two extended squad members, with four further draft picks also set to join. de Nysschen is one of three players who were part of the initial Jackals roster earlier this year who have returned. The others are blindside flanker Bronson Teles and midfielder Galvin Gentry.
