Italy utilizes URC home venues for Argentina and Uruguay test matches

Italy will play host to three matches in November. The Italians will take on Argentina, Uruguay and the world no 2 New Zealand on home soil. The venues for the three matches have been confirmed. Italy will open their November Internationals series against the All Blacks on Saturday, November 06 in Rome. The two remaining matches will be at the home venues of Italy’s United Rugby Championship (URC) teams Benetton and Zebre.

Italy’s home match against Argentina will be on Saturday, November 13. It will be played at the home of Benetton, the top Italian side in the URC. The Stadio Monigo is well known to Thomas Gallo who debuted for Argentina on Saturday. He plays for Benetton. The club is also the home of veteran Puma Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro and uncapped Argentine players Ivan Nemer, Tomás Baravalle, Tomás Albornoz and Joaquín Riera. The Italian capped Argentine Juan Ignacio Brex also plays for Benetton.

Game three for Italy will be against Uruguay. The historic match will be played on Saturday, November 20 in Parma. The Stadio Lanfranchi is to be the venue for the match. It is the home of Zebre in the URC. The fixture is a potential early look at what could be a fixture at RWC 2023. If Uruguay defeat the USA by 4 or more this coming Saturday in Montevideo then Los Teros will face Italy at Nice on Wednesday, September 20, 2023.
