Tyler Ardron set to bolster Canadian lineup in Chile

Canada are set to receive a major boost for the second test of their World Cup qualifying series against Chile next weekend. Tyler Ardron is to join the team in Victoria today, their RWC 2019 captain posting his flight ticket on social media this afternoon.

Ardron is one of a handful of top professionals who have been unavailable to Canada in the first three matches of their qualifying process. The 30-year-old No8 arrives in top form as evidenced by his Man-of-the-Match performance for Castres in their victory over Toulon on Saturday. It’s unclear at this point if any of the other France-based players will make the trip.

Canada face a tense build-up to the match in Valparaiso next Saturday. With only a one-point margin of victory in Langford they will require a win on the road against a vastly improved Cóndores side. The loser of the game in Chile will be eliminated from the race to qualify for RWC 2023.
