One-year NOLA extension for Eric Howard

Eric Howard will stay on for a fifth campaign with NOLA Gold. The 28-year-old Canadian international has signed a one-year extension through the end of the 2022 Major League Rugby season.

Since joining ahead of the inaugural season Howard has been a mainstay on Gold match day rosters. He captained the side during the 2019 season and his 10 appearances in 2021 gives him a total of 33 MLR caps for the club, a mark eclipsed only by Moni Tonga’uiha and Holden Yungert.

The Gold have now secured their three senior hookers for the coming season with Pat O’Toole and the versatile Kevin O’Connor also signed through 2022. USA age-grade international Stephen McLeish was also on the roster this past season, while George Sharpe was selected in the 2021 Collegiate Draft.
