Jamason Fa’anana-Schultz stays with Old Glory for 2022

Jamason Fa’anana-Schultz will stay on with Old Glory for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The 25-year-old USA international has signed a one-year extension in what is the first bit of positive news for DC fans in what has been a dreary off-season thus far.

After a highly impressive first half of the 2021 season, Fa’anana-Schultz missed much of the second half first with a three-game suspension and then on the Eagles tour to Europe. He played 11 games in the end with his powerful running from the base of the scrum an invaluable source of go-forward for the team.

Old Glory will be looking to secure more of their home-based talent after saying goodbye to tighthead prop Steven Longwell, flanker Mungo Mason, flyhalf Jason Robertson, and midfielder Ciaran Hearn. Two more front rowers – Jamie Dever and Mike Sosene-Feagai – are both currently in Europe.
