The Dallas Jackals have signed former Gloucester center Henry Trinder on a two-year contract through the end of the 2023 Major League Rugby campaign. He brings well over a decade of experience at the highest level of English rugby, and follows fellow Premiership centurion Chris Pennell to the expansion side.
Trinder, 32, made his top flight debut for Gloucester a month shy of his 19th birthday in 2008. He would go on to star with the England u20 side the following year and he earned England Saxons honors in 2011. Despite being included in several senior England training squads and the 2014 tour to New Zealand, injuries would ultimately preclude Trinder from winning a full test cap.
The No13 specialist departed Gloucester after nearly 14 seasons to join Vannes in the French Pro D2 on a short-term deal in May. Trinder then signed on as a player-coach with Ampthill but will now leave the RFU Championship side to take up the MLR opportunity in Dallas.
