Jérémy Lenaerts moves from SaberCats to Jackals

Dallas have confirmed the signing of second row Jérémy Lenaerts for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The 28-year-old moves to the Jackals after one season with the Houston SaberCats. It is his third MLR team having previously spent three years with the Seattle Seawolves.

Lenaerts has represented Belgium at u19 level but won Collegiate All-American honors while at Central Washington and remains US-eligible. After missing the first few weeks of the 2021 season due to the pandemic, he would play 9 games for Houston including 4 starts.

The Jackals have now signed two players from the SaberCats including blindside flanker Bronson Teles. Other additions are former England fullback Chris Pennell, Scotland 7s flanker Charlie McKill, and Rugby ATL lock Mike Matarazzo. Five players were selected in the Collegiate Draft while prop Tayé Olagunju has joined the extended squad.
