Old Glory prop Steven Longwell signs for Jersey Reds

Jersey Reds have announced the signing of tighthead prop Steven Longwell for the 2021-22 RFU Championship season. The 31-year-old makes the move from Old Glory DC, having most recently been lining up for Super 6 club Watsonians in his native Scotland.

Longwell joined Old Glory ahead of the 2021 Major League Rugby campaign and made an immediate impact in the scrum. He played all 16 games during the season, 15 of them starts, and played the most minutes of any forward on the team.

Old Glory will need to find a new tighthead for the 2022 campaign. The other two starting front rowers are currently on short-term contracts in Europe. Loosehead prop Jamie Dever signed on with London Irish in the English Premiership while Mike Sosene-Feagai is with Toulon in the Top 14.
