Joel Sclavi to undergo surgery

Joel Sclavi is to undergo surgery. The Argentine prop was expected to make his Pumas debut in the 2021 Rugby Championship. Instead, he will be unable to play any test rugby for Argentina this year. His return time to the field is now marked down for December.

Sclavi’s departrure from ther Rugby Championship is the second in the position for Mario Ledesma. Francisco Gómez Kodela returned to France following the second round. Santiago Medrano, Enrique Pieretto, and Juan Pablo Zeiss are the three tight heads currently on the roster in Australia.

Injury also affected the same player in 2020. He went on to missed the Rugby Championship, doing so after having made a strong impact in his rookie season of Super Rugby. Now, the 27-year-old Sclavi will have cervical surgery. His next match will be in France for Top 14 side, and 2021 runners-up, La Rochelle.
