New names training with Men’s Eagles Sevens

Eight new players are currently training with the USA Men’s Eagles Sevens in preparation for the World Sevens Series. The shortened campaign will now be played over just two weekends, both to be hosted by Canada in Vancouver and Edmonton on consecutive weekends starting on September 18.

All were standouts at the RugbyTown 7s two weeks ago. Five of the newcomers have links to Major League Rugby clubs including two attached to the LA Giltinis – towering lock Shawn Clark, who came through the Colorado XOs crossover program, and speedy Belmont Shore winger Adam Channel.

Another XOs product, David Still, was a late-season signing for the Austin Gilgronis. Tsunami Barbarians finisher Aki Raymond was on the extended roster for Rugby United New York, and Chicago Lions flanker Aaron Cummings is part of the Houston SaberCats academy program Rugby HTX.

The other attendees are Denver Barbarians forward Alex Wormer, Rudy Scholz nominee and Central Washington center Jack Wendling, and electric Santa Clara playmaker Jerome Nale.

Old Glory DC winger D’Montae Noble and Hong Kong u20 cap Lucas Lacamp also received invitations but were unable to attend the training camp.
