USA prop Charli Jacoby joins Loughborough Lightning

USA international Charli Jacoby has joined English club Loughborough Lightning. The 31-year-old prop made her Premier 15s debut as a replacement against defending champions Harlequins this past Sunday during the opening round of the 2021-22 season.

Jacoby arrives from her home state of Illinois, where she captained Chicago North Shore. She is effectively a replacement for the now-departed Canadian international DaLeaka Menin who recently made the switch to Exeter Chiefs.

After debuting in the non-cap match against the Barbarians in 2019, Jacoby made her test bow against England and has now won 4 caps for the Women’s Eagles. The move to England puts her in a strong position to challenge for a spot in next year’s World Cup that will take place in New Zealand.
