Canadian flanker Janna Slevinsky signs for Saracens

Saracens have locked in a third Canadian for the 2021-2022 Premier 15s campaign. Openside flanker Janna Slevinsky has signed on, joining hooker Mackenzie Carson and outside back Alysha Corrigan on the confirmed roster. USA Eagles scrumhalf Carly Waters is also on the books.

Slevinsky, 28, was a standout at university level for the Acadia Axewomen and has most recently been playing for her hometown side, appropriately the Calgary Saracens. Her test debut came against England in 2017 and the following year was named Canadian Senior Women’s Player of the Year.

Meanwhile two players who lined up for Saracens last season will not be returning. Second row Emma Taylor will combine training with her business career in Halifax, Nova Scotia, while back row Sophie de Goede is set to continue her studies at Queen’s University.
