Perugia sign Santiago Resino from SLAR

Perugia have signed Santiago Resino. The move sees the Argentine center on his way to Italy to play in the Serie A. Resino makes the move following his involvement this year for Los Cafeteros Pro in the Súper Liga Americana de Rugby (SLAR).

The move will see Resino playing professional rugby in a third country. He played for the Olímpia Lions in 2020 and Los Cafeteros Pro in 2021. He has not played professional rugby for an Argentine team, though he is a product of the domestic High Performance system. Resino has played for Argentina u20’s, Los Pumas 7’s and the Argentina XV. He is uncapped for Los Pumas.

The 26-year-old is a product of Universitario de Tucumán. He played four matches for Los Cafeteros Pro in the 2021 SLAR season. He will not be the only Argentine at Perugia. The club is also home to Benito Paolucci, and Emanuel Contino.
