Elaine Vassie promoted to General Manager of Dallas Jackals

Elaine Vassie has been promoted to General Manager of the Dallas Jackals. Originally hired as an Assistant GM, she takes over the lead role from co-founder Phil Camm, who is now listed as a Business Strategy Consultant. Vassie is the only female GM in Major League Rugby.

The 39-year-old is originally from Scotland but took over as Head Coach of men’s side Manchester FC in 2009. Four years later she was appointed Director of Rugby for Dallas Griffins, subsequently assuming the same role for Dallas Harlequins in 2018. Vassie also coached the Scotland Women’s Sevens side at the European Championships in 2016.

With the Collegiate Draft now completed, Vassie’s priority will be to confirm a coaching staff. Previous hires Allen Clarke and Lee Radford have since moved on with Nese Malifa the only assistant remaining. New players will also be required with most of last year’s signings now departed for pastures new.
