Mungo Mason departs Old Glory for Oxford

Mungo Mason will not be playing a third season of Major League Rugby. The Old Glory DC co-captain has confirmed he will depart the team to take up an opportunity at the prestigious Oxford University.

In his two seasons with Old Glory, Mason wore the No7 shirt in 17 matches, missing only four due to a shoulder injury this past year. All were as captain or co-captain alongside Thretton Palamo. The 25-year-old was universally regarded among the best flankers in the league.

A former Scotland 7s representative, he will now look to add a Varsity ‘blue’ to his resume. Old Glory have also said goodbye to Canadian international Ciaran Hearn, who is retiring, while star flyhalf Jason Robertson has signed on with French Pro D2 club Narbonne.
