Victor Comptat heads back to France with Rumilly

Victor Comptat’s stay in Seattle appears to be short-lived. The towering second row has returned to France, agreeing a two-year deal with Fédérale 1 side Rumilly. It’s the same club that initially captured the signature of Psalm Wooching, only for the Eagles flanker to later switch to Rouen Normandie.

Comptat has lived a nomadic life in rugby terms. He was in the academy systems for Toulon and Massy Essonne before joining Austin Elite in 2018. Since then he spent two seasons in Houston, before playing one game for San Diego this season and finally five games with the Seawolves.

The 24-year-old, a USA u20 international, also lined up for three other Fédérale 1 sides during the Major League Rugby offseason – Bédarrides, Hyères, and Marcq. Comptat has already arrived for preseason training with his new club.
