Andrew Guerra signs long-term NOLA extension

NOLA have secured Rookie of the Year Andrew Guerra on a three-year deal that keeps him wearing Gold through the end of the 2024 Major League Rugby season. It caps a remarkable year for the 23-year-old, who made his test debut for the USA against Ireland last month.

Selected 10th overall by the Gold with their second pick of the 2020 MLR Collegiate Draft, Guerra made a seamless transition to professional rugby. The openside flanker made a dozen appearances for NOLA, 11 of them starts, and led the team in tackles.

With a large number of players already contracted for next season and beyond, the Gold can be expected to be playoff contenders in 2022. Guerra joins midfielder JP du Plessis in committing through 2024.
