Argentina has confirmed a 47-man playing roster for the 2021 Rugby Championship. Los Pumas will play six test matches away from home, facing Australia, New Zealand and South Africa twice each.
The roster contains players based both at home and abroad. Playing based in Australia, England, France, Italy, New Zealand, Scotland and Wales for the 2021-2022 season are all included. This will see players Argentina represented by players from Super Rugby, the English Premiership, Top 14 Pro D2, and the United Rugby Championship.
Meanwhile, there are names from the Súper Liga Americana de Rugby and also opportunities for players from Los Pumas 7’s. The uncapped Lucio Cinti, Santiago Mare Ignacio Mendy, and Marcos Moneta all make the roster just one day after winning Bronze at the Tokyo Olympics.
The Rugby Championship will be Argentina’s second of three assignments for 2021. The first was the July Internationals. Los Pumas were unbeaten against Romania in Bucharest and Wales in Cardiff. The third, and final, stage will be the November Internationals with Los Pumas touring France, Italy, and Ireland.
For Argentina the Rugby Championship kicks-off on August 14. The complete match schedule can be accessed by clicking here.
