The Americas Rankings is an exclusive on Americas Rugby News. The rankings compare the men’s test teams from throughout the Americas. Matches recognized as caps are used for the rankings. Teams yet to compete since the Americas Rankings began are listed with 30.00 points.

The July 11, 2021 edition considers the results of international activity this past weekend. Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, and the USA were all in action in capped test matches.

Argentina competed to a 20-20 draw against Wales. Argentina were the visitors and they were also the lower ranked of the two competitors. As such, the draw sees Argentina making a minor gain. The updated rankings see Argentina improving from 80.31 to 80.92 points.

Canada also competed in the UK on Saturday. The North Americans fell to a 70-14 defeat against England in London. The respective rankings points means that there was no change to either team based on the outcome of the match.

The same applies to the USA Eagles and their match against Ireland. The Eagles were beaten by an even larger score than Canada against England. The 71-10 loss sees no change in the rankings.

Sunday’s RWC 2023 qualifier did see points exchanged in the rankings. Chile’s 23-13 win over Brazil corresponds to a 1.39 points exchange. The updated Americas Rankings see Chile closing the gap on Brazil. The countries remain 5th and 6th in the Americas respectively.

The rankings will be updated again following the completion of international competition next weekend. Uruguay open their RWC 2023 campaign at home against Chile. In addition, Argentina will face Wales in the second of two test matches. The winner of game two will claim a series victory.
