Pumita Joaquín Blangetti joins Nevers

Uson Nevers Rugby have signed Joaquín Blangetti. The move sees a first professional experience abroad for the teenager from Villa Nueva, a city in Córdoba province in Argentina. The player signed for the club following his involvement for Los Pumitas in the International Series U20s in South Africa.

The 19-year-old Blangetti played alongside Martín Vaca and Joaquín Oviedo. Both players will join Blangetti in France for the new season. Vaca has signed for Pro D2 side Narbonne while Oviedo will play in the Top 14 for Perpignan.

The three players are all products of Argentina’s High Performance system. Moreover, all three are from Córdoba. Vaca is from Jockey Club Villa María, Oviedo is from Córdoba Athletic and Blangetti is from San Martín Rugby Club.

Blangetti began playing rugby at the relatively old age of 14. He made his debut in a derby match against Jockey Club. He impressed to the extent that he received an invitation from the Córdoba High Performance Center during his rookie season.

The High Performance Center helped him rise though the domestic system to be selected to play for Los Pumitas. Quick change saw him putting-on 12 kg. The dedicated front-rower was rewarded with the honor of playing for Argentina in the International Series u20s. He started in the match against Georgia. With a blink of the eye he is now on his way to play for Nevers in France.
