Americas Rankings – July 04, 2021

The Americas Rankings is an exclusive on Americas Rugby News. The rankings compare the men’s test teams from throughout the Americas. Matches recognized as caps are used for the rankings. Teams yet to compete since the Americas Rankings began are listed with 30.00 points.

The July 04, 2021 edition considers the results of international activity this past weekend. Argentina, Canada, Uruguay and the USA were all in action. Three matches involving the four countries were capped. The three capped fixtures count towards rankings.

Canada played their first test match since RWC 2019. The North Americans faced Wales in Cardiff. The home side had the better play in completing a comfortable victory. The rankings of the two teams meant that neither side’s ranking has been affected.

The same applies to the test matches in Bucharest, Romania and London, England. Argentina were winners over Romania while the USA had a strong showing in a loss against England. The points differential means that the ranking of all competitors goes unchanged.

Uruguay’s home win on Sunday has no impact on the rankings. Los Teros completed an impressive win over the Argentina XV. The match was one test side against a next-of-XV. With it not having been two test sides no rankings points were exchanged.

The rankings will be updated again following the completion of international competition next weekend. Brazil face Chile in Montevideo in a RWC 2o23 qualifier. In addition, Argentina will face Wales; the USA will face Ireland; and Canada will face England in away test matches.
