26-man Argentina XV roster ready for Uruguay

The Argentina XV are ready to travel to Montevideo. Argentina’s next of XV will face Uruguay on Sunday, July 04 at the Estadio Charrúa. The match will be a one-off for the Argentina XV. For Los Teros it will serve as vital preparation ahead of their home RWC 2023 qualifiers against Brazil and the winner of Chile vs Colombia.

The Argentina XV are coached by Ignacio Fernández Lobbe. The former Puma was also in charge of Los Jaguares XV in the Súper Liga Americana de Rugby (SLAR). His roster contains 23 SLAR players. The exceptions are second-rower Ignacio Calás, prop Lucio Sordoni, and center Julián Quetglas.

13 of the 23 SLAR players featured under Fernández Lobbe for Los Jaguares XV. They come across the board in terms of positions. There has also been selection out of position with second-rower Rodrigo Fernández Criado selected as a flanker.

The ten remaining SLAR players featured for Los Cafeteros Pro (Colombia), Os Cobras (Brazil), the Olímpia Lions (Paraguay) and Peñarol (Uruguay). As such, Selknam is the SLAR only team without a player on the Argentina XV roster.

Not included are players who have recently signed to play abroad. For instance, scrum-half Gonzalo García, and fly halves Tomás Albornoz and Máximo Ledesma. All three will continues their careers in Italy.
