García Botta and Landajo crowned Premiership Champions

Pumas Santiago García Botta and Martín Landajo are English Premiership champions. Both players were one the replacements bench for the Harlequins in today’s final. The Harlequins were 40-38 winners over the 2020 English Premiership winners the Exeter Chiefs.

USA Eagles center Paul Lasike also plays for the Harlequins. He was not selected for the final. Also uninvolved was former Argentina XV winger Facundo Cordero. He had a strong season for Exeter; yet, the strength of the roster was such that Scotland captain Stuart Hogg was left out of the starting line-up for both the Semi Final and Final.

Both García Botta and Landajo joined the Harlequins from Argentina. They departed Super Rugby to continue their careers abroad. For loose head prop García Botta it marked a return to Europe; he previously played for Stade Français. Landajo will continue his career next season in France. He will do so for Perpignan  alongside Jerónimo de la Fuente, Patricio Fernández, and Bautista Delguy.
