Americas Top 14 Champions *Updated*

The French domestic rugby championship, the Top 14 has a history dating back to 1892. It has been played in a variety of formats with the current one being fourteen clubs with the winner determined with a final.

The existing format is very much recent. Indeed from 2001-2005 it was the Top 16 and before that it had been even larger. Since downsizing to become the Top 14 for the 2005-2016 there have been players from the Americas involved in all finals. In addition at least one player from the Americas has won the Top 14 title every year.

Argentine players dominate the list with twenty-one winners. Canada hashed two winners and Uruguay one. Coincidentally the three players all won from the second-row position.

The USA has not had an on-field winner. Stade Français won in 2015 in a final in which Scott LaValla sat out. The North American did not play in the final but having featured earlier he has qualified for the list. The same applies to David Ainu’u in 2021. All remaining players played in their respective winning finals.

The complete list of players from the Americas to have won the Top 14 is displayed below.
