Sudamérica Rugby has confirmed the match officials for the upcoming international competition. Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay, and Uruguay will compete in RWC 2023 qualifiers. They are to begin this coming Saturday with Brazil having home advantage against Paraguay.
The officials are names familiar to players and supporters of the Súper Liga Americana de Rugby (SLAR). Argentine Damián Schneider will be in charge of Brazil vs Paraguay. The match will take place at the Estadio Martín Pereira in São José dos Campos. The city is the hotbed of Brazilian rugby.
Gamer two will take place seven days later. Chile will be playing at home against Colombia. The match venue is the Estadio Elías Figueroa. It hosted SLAR three SLAR matches this year. Uruguayan Francisco González will be the referee for the elimination RWC qualifier.
The winning competitor from the above mentioned RWC qualifiers will join Uruguay in round two. The matches will be officiated by a referee team of Gonzalo De Achával (Argentina), Andrea Piardi (Italy), and Gianluca Gnecchi (Italy). Uruguay will warm-up for by facing the Argentina XV. Nehuén Jauri Rivero (Argentina) will officiate that contest.
