Saracens beat Ealing to make Premiership return official

Saracens are officially back in the English Premiership. The former European champions claimed a 57-15 home victory in the second leg of the RFU Championship final, making the aggregate score a woefully lopsided 117-15 after a 60-nil result in the first leg.

So ends a one-year exile from the top flight for Saracens, who were relegated after repeat violations of the Premiership salary cap. With no relegation this season there will be at least 13 teams in the Premiership next season. Rumors continue to circulate suggesting a 14th side will be added with a longer-term moratorium on relegation.

USA international Malon Al-Jiboori started on the blindside flank for Ealing. None of the three Americas representatives at Saracens played in the match. Eagles hooker Kapeli Pifeleti will continue with the team next season but flyhalf Will Hooley is a confirmed departure with his destination yet to be revealed. Former Pumas center Juan Pablo Socino is at the end of his one-year contract.
