Ireland, France, and Russia qualify for Tokyo Olympics

Harry McNulty will not be returning to the LA Giltinis this season. The 28-year-old flanker scored the fourth try of the Repechage Final in Monaco to help Ireland claim the final spot in the Men’s bracket of the Tokyo Olympics.

Ireland had earlier defeated Samoa in the final match of the pool stage and Hong Kong in the Semi Final, both by convincing margins. They join 11 other teams in Tokyo including Argentina, Canada, and the USA. The Men’s tournament will take place from July 27 to 29.

With two qualification spots available in the Women’s bracket there was no ultimate winner with the Semi Finals effectively changed into separate Finals. Russia and France were completely dominant throughout the tournament to book their spots in Tokyo.

Argentina and Colombia were both knocked out in the Semi Finals but there were already three Americas teams qualified. Brazil, Canada, and the USA will compete with the Women’s tournament to be played from July 30 to August 1.
