Multiple Americas countries remain in the hint for a place in the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games. Following the completion of day two of the World Rugby Repechage qualifying tournament in Monaco there remain multiple possibilities.
Argentina’s women, Las Pumas, won both of their matches. They downed Mexico 36-0 and Samoa 15-12. This was sufficient for Argentina to secure a place in the Semi Finals despite still having to play against Russia. Colombia were beaten 31-10 by Hong Kong in their opening match and subsequently lost against France. Las Cafeteras face Madagascar tomorrow.
France also won against South American opposition in the Men’s section. France defeated Chile 43-7 and Los Cóndores then fell 26-15 to Hong Kong. Chile recovered to defeat Americas rivals Jamaica 31-5 in their third match. France and Hong Kong both qualified for the Semi Finals as did Ireland and Samoa.
