The Austin Gilgronis have added two front rowers to their roster for the remainder of the Major League Rugby season. Both are names familiar to Austin fans – Brendan Rams and Phil Hansen.
Rams played 14 games for Austin between the 2019 and 2020 seasons. He had initially re-signed with the club last August but work commitments kept him from joining until now. The 32-year-old, originally from South Africa, is capable of playing hooker at tighthead prop.
Hanson, 28, arrives as loosehead cover. The Dallas native played in two games for Austin during the 2019 season and was part of the squad in 2020 but did not make an appearance.
Both players are immediately available for this weekend’s game. They follow last week’s additions of Locky McCaffrey, David Still, and Patrick Coleman.
