Harry McNulty departs LA to prepare for Olympics

Harry McNulty has departed the LA Giltinis to join up with the Ireland Sevens squad for their build-up to the Tokyo Olympics. He is one of 25 players split between two teams that will be competing against Great Britain in an exhibition series this weekend.

Having signed on with the Giltinis alongside brother Sean, the elder McNulty played three games including two starts at openside flanker. He scored a try in the win over the Toronto Arrows at New Orleans on April 10. McNulty represented Ireland at the 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens in San Francisco.

LA have also confirmed a season-ending knee injury for hooker and sometimes flanker Lindsey Stevens, while first choice No7 Christian Poidevin damaged a collarbone in the first half of Saturday’s game against Rugby ATL. Angus Cottrell and Pago Haini look set to man the flanks against Houston next weekend.
