World Rugby has confirmed a new match schedule for the postponed Rugby World Cup 2021, which will now kick off in October 2022. The revised schedule sees all matches moving to Saturday or Sunday fixtures, guaranteeing a minimum of five days rest.
Two teams from the Americas have qualified to date. Both Canada and the USA have been drawn in Pool B. The two North American rivals will go head-to-head in the last round of pool play on Sunday, October 23, at Waitakere Stadium in Auckland. Their other Pool B opponents are as-of-yet undecided with qualifiers to come from Europe and Asia.
Opening the flagship women’s event will be a match between South Africa and France at Eden Park in Auckland on Saturday, October 8. Hosts New Zealand take on Australia later that day at the same venue. Okara Park in Whangarei is the third venue to be used during the tournament.
