Three-game suspension for Jamason Fa’anana-Schultz

Old Glory DC will be without Jamason Fa’anana-Schultz for the next three games. Their star ball carrier has been handed a three-game suspension after receiving a red card near the end of Saturday’s game against the Houston SaberCats.

Referee Mike Lash sent Fa’anana-Schultz from the field for a dangerous tackle on Paula Balekana at the 70 minute mark. As the Houston winger jumped in the air to catch an up-and-under, the Old Glory No8 tackled Balekana who landed on his head/shoulder area.

Fa’anana-Schultz will miss the games against New York this coming Sunday, followed by the June 6 game against New England and the June 12 game against NOLA. Old Glory have a bye the following week, meaning he will be free to play against Rugby ATL on June 26.

It’s a significant blow for DC who are also likely to be without Fa’anana-Schultz for the July 4 and July 10 games against Toronto and San Diego due to his selection to the US Eagles squad. Former club captain Josh Brown and Canadian international Luke Campbell are options to fill the gap.
