Emily Tuttosi named Player of the Year for Exeter

Canadian hooker Emily Tuttosi has been named Player of the Year for Exeter Chiefs. The honor was voted by her teammates, which included internationals from a variety of countries – three more from Canada and five from the USA. Second row McKinley Hunt was recognized as the club’s top try scorer.

Tuttosi started all 18 games for Exeter in her first season with the club, scoring two tries. The 25-year-old from Manitoba was in her third season at the top level of English rugby. She had spent the previous two seasons with Loughborough Lightning.

This was Exeter’s first season with a women’s side. The Chiefs won 10 games and finished in 6th place, an equal record with 5th-place Gloucester-Hartpury but slightly behind on scoring differential. A highlight of the season was an upset win over previously unbeaten Saracens in January.
