Tyler Duguid and Titi Lamositele win European Challenge Cup

Tyler Duguid and Titi Lamositele are European Challenge Cup champions. The Canadian and U.S. forwards were a part of the winning effort for Montpellier on Friday. The French Top 14 team downed English Premiership side the Leicester Tigers 18-17 in London.

The USA Eagles tighthead prop Titi Lamositele and uncapped 20-year-old Canadian lock Tyler Duguid were both replacements for Montpellier. Lamositele was a 44th minute replacement while Duguid entered three minutes from full time. Their appearances make both Challenge Cup winners.

For Lamositele the title gives him a European double. He is a previous European Champions Cup winner with Saracens. Duguid has enjoyed a remarkable rise having only made his senior club debut on May 1.

The Leicester Tigers started with Matías Moroni at outside center. The Argentine international has been a regular starter for Tigers since signing in the off-season. His club are in 6th spot on the English Premiership table with three rounds to go. Los Pumas hooker Julián Montoya missed out with injury while second row Tomás Lavanini was  left out. The latter will join Clermont Auvergne after the season.
