SLAR Pumas Bolters

The 2021 Súper Liga Americana de Rugby season has given Mario Ledesma plenty to think about. Argentine players across all six teams have put up their hands for international duty.

Argentina’s entrant, Los Jaguares XV, won all their regular season matches with a bonus point. The team defeated the Olímpia Lions in their Semi Final and are now prearing to face Peñarol in the Final.

Argentines impressed for Los Jaguares XV and for every team. Evidence exists in ARN’s Argentina XV which considered players from the five non-Argentine teams and in ARN’s naming of the 2021 SLAR All-Stars.

In all likelihood Ledesma will select SLAR players for the tour. The question is not if but how many will be selected. Eight Jaguares XV players were on Argentina’s roster for the 2020 Tri Nations. Of them Felipe Ezcurra, Francisco Gorrissen and Juan Pablo Zeiss played test match rugby. As such, the trio ought not to be considered as bolters.

Which other players then could be considered the most likely to receive a call from Mario Ledesma? After careful consideration ARN has determined that the following players merit selection for the July Internationals for Argentina.
