Canada to play two test matches in Great Britain in July

Canada is to play to test matches in Great Britain in July. The two match tour replaces the previously established home series wherein Canada was to host home test matches. Canada’s two matches will be in the UK against Wales and England. They are to be Canada’s first test matches since RWC 2019.

England’s North American tour is now a home series. Both the USA and Canada will play test matches at Twickenham in July. Canada’s home match against England will now be a road fixture. The North Americans will play at the home of England Rugby on July 10. The match will be Canada’s first appearance against England in England since 2004.

Wales’ tour to South America is also now a home series. The Welsh were due to tour Argentina and Uruguay; instead, Argentina will play two tests in Wales and Uruguay will not tour. Los Teros will play RWC 2023 qualifiers.

In order for Uruguay to play Wales the South Americans would need to quarantine. This is impossible due to the dates of the aforementioned RWC 2023 qualifiers. The void in Wales’ July Internationals schedule will be taken by Canada. The North Americans will play at the home of Welsh Rugby on July 3. It will be Canada’s first away match against Wales since 2006.
