Old Glory confirms return of Dylan Taikato-Simpson

Old Glory DC have received a boost with the return of Dylan Taikato-Simpson for the remainder of the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 31-year-old fullback had initially opted out of the season following the arrival of his first child last August.

Taikato-Simpson joined the team from Glendale for the 2020 season and played every possible minute of their five games with one try scored. In 2019 he started 15 of 16 games for the Raptors with six tries, two conversions, and two penalty goals.

Renowned for his counter-attacking abilities, Taikato-Simpson adds potency to Old Glory’s outside backs. His return should coincide with the end of Osea Kolinisau’s two-week contract. Meanwhile a potential deal with New Zealand Māori international Matty Lansdown has reportedly fallen through.
