Old Glory adds Osea Kolinisau on short-term deal

Old Glory DC have confirmed a two-week contract with former Houston SaberCats fullback Osea Kolinisau. The long-time Fiji Sevens international joins the team with immediate effect. Also confirmed is an initial four-week agreement with Thomas Morani.

Kolinisau captained Fiji to a Gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games. One of Houston’s early signings when they were still known as the ‘Strikers’ in 2017, the 35-year-old was a regular in his three seasons with the SaberCats, starting 24 Major League Rugby games and scoring seven tries.

The additions of Kolinisau and Morani are intended to hold Old Glory over while they deal with injuries to Canadian backs Ciaran Hearn and Doug Fraser. A further signing is also expected soon. Renata Roberts-Te Nana and Mike Dabulas have been covering fullback for the team so far this season.
