Thomas Morani moves from SaberCats to Old Glory

Thomas Morani has found a new home in Major League Rugby. Having secured an early release from Houston, the 25-year-old has joined Old Glory DC for the remainder of the 2021 season. Argentine online publication A Pleno confirmed the move in conversation with Morani.

EDIT: Old Glory have clarified that Morani’s initial agreement is for four weeks.

During this past season, his only season with the SaberCats, Morani started two games. He had initially re-signed with the club in September but with the arrivals of both Veramu Dikidikilati and now Joe Thomas, there was little playing time available at Morani’s preferred position of outside center.

Though raised in Argentina, Morani was born in Miami and is USA-qualified. He joins Old Glory at a time when their midfield depth has been tested with Canadian pair Ciaran Hearn and Doug Fraser both out injured. DC have also been linked with former SaberCats fullback Osea Kolinisau.
