New York’s first home games at New Jersey’s Cochrane Stadium

Rugby United New York will play their first two home games of the 2021 season at New Jersey’s Cochrane Stadium. The Caven Point venue lies adjacent to a baseball field but unlike their previous home of MCU Park, the diamond does not extend onto the football-lined FieldTurf surface.

Coney Island served as the team’s home for their first two seasons but is unavailable for use in 2021. Cochrane Stadium will serve as a short term solution with no indication yet where the team will play beyond their April 25 date against the Toronto Arrows.

Despite a capacity of 4,000 no fans will be permitted the stadium due to local pandemic regulations. New York State is also currently severely restricting attendance at sports events while also requiring proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 tests.
